5TH ANNUAL RICHMOND JAZZ FESTIVAL
RICHMOND, VA - The 5th annual Richmond Jazz Festival, held August 7-10, featured more than 20 top, Grammy Awardwinning, international and national jazz talents including Roy Ayers and Cameo (pictured above right with Durham’s own
Aaron Mills on bass), Boz Scaggs, Earl Klugh, Boney James, Fred Wesley & the New JB’s, and Maceo Parker to name a few
. Set along the backdrop of the 100-acre estate at Maymont, artists perform on two stages. In addition to live jazz, guests
can also look forward to complimentary wine tastings, chef demonstrations hosted by award-winning chefs; artist meet

66th AKA BOULE HELD IN
CHARLOTTE
CHARLOTTE, NC - The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority international
conference, also known as the Boule, occurs every two years in
various states. The conference attracts thousands of members
from all over the world and lasts a week. In 2014, the 66th
Boule was held in Charlotte, North Carolina July 12-18. Twelve
graduate chapters within the Mid-Atlantic region served as
