Cranberry marsh, winery tours
are a Cranberry Fest tradition
The Eagle River Cranberry Fest has always been
special for northern Wisconsin. Nowhere else and
at no other time do visitors
get the opportunity to experience a guided tour of both
a cranberry marsh and the
first winery to make cranberry wine.
Tours have been offered
during the festival for more
than three decades, resulting in countless happy visitors who feel lucky to have
been around at the right
time and place for this
amazing two-hour tour.
The tour itself is filled
with new insight into cranberry growing and wine
making, thanks to a knowledgeable tour guide who escorts the visitor during the
entire length of the trip.
A scenic drive through a
private cranberry marsh
during harvest is the first
stop. The guide describes
what the visitor observes
as well as what goes on the
rest of the year. Questions
are encouraged.
The next stop is at Three

Lakes Winery. Although
you can catch a production
tour of the winery any day
during the summer, the
harvest tours put on for
Cranberry Fest are special.
Fermenting batches of
cranberries are on display
and visitors are encouraged
to give it a stir. The fully
automated bottling line is
set up to run for the entire
festival and put into action
during every tour.
An elaborate tasting follows that include samples
of sausage, cheese and several varieties of wines, including the winery’s Gold
