But GreenWeavers owner Wendy Kimbrell believes that nothing should be further from the truth. “Aside from the bride herself, we believe the matriarchs of both families should be the best-dressed women in the room,” she says. “And that includes the grandmothers.” At GreenWeavers, mothers of the bride and groom will find an array of sophisticated wedding attire designed not only to make them look beautiful at the wedding, but to wear again at other occasions. “No one wants to buy a dress they can only wear once — wedding or not,” Kimbrell says. “Our mother-of-thebride and groom dresses are contemporary, fashion-conscious, elegant and practical.” The wedding attire selection at GreenWeavers provides options for formal, theme, casual to semi-casual and destination weddings. The store’s staff members are trained to work closely with all matriarchs of the family and pay special attention not only to the mothers of the bride and groom, but to the grandmothers as well. “The wedding of a woman’s granddaughter or grandson is a celebration of that woman’s life,” Kimbrell says. “It’s a happy presentation of her life’s love and success, and we feel she should walk down the aisle looking gorgeous. And the mothers really should look just as beautiful as the bride.” Much of the store’s inventory is imported from Paris and Montreal, where GreenWeavers staffers travel to purchase the latest in fashion trends. “We may be in the North Woods, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be just as fashionable as any shop in Paris or New York,” laughs Kimbrell. Adds Kathy Nelson, GreenWeavers sales associate, “We often hear our customers say they ‘don’t have any place to wear’ something nice. But the reality is, a beautiful woman can never be overdressed, no matter where she goes.” Rustic River Cabin Outfitters When patrons purchase window treatments and home interiors at Rustic River Cabin Outfitters, their homes are not only enhanced, they’re transformed, according to Rustic River owner Carrie Schalinske. “Our window treatment customers, for instance, want to find window coverings that blend with their current décor,” said Schalinske. “So I visit their homes, and help choose fabrics, tex- Rustic River Cabin Outfitters in Sayner offers window coverings as well as an eclectic selection of furniture, including bedroom sets. —Contributed Photo tures and colors that will add warmth and style to their rooms.” But Schalinske invariably takes the process one step further by offering a selection of accessories and finishing touches at her store that take the home’s presentation to a new level. For instance, she may simply suggest adding a bold “punch” of color by painting just one accent wall in the room. “Adding color to white walls can be extremely daring for many people,” Schalinske said. “My job is to show them what a huge difference the right color can make, while adding life and elegance to the room. “And the key is to make it all work with their existing décor,” she adds. Rustic River also is a priority dealer of Hunter Douglas blinds and shades, and carries the full line of Graber products. They are offered in an array of materials, including Roman shades, wood blinds, verticals, cellular, pleated, mini blinds and more. Also available are custom valances, draperies, swags, cornices and bedding ensembles. “A contemporary cabin should be rustic with a modern twist, and above all, should offer the ultimate in comfort,” said Schalinske as she points out one of the plush easy chairs on Rustic River’s showroom
