Progress — 2014 Page 17 Top brands, award-winning service leads to record year at Shoeder’s ___________ BY NEWS-REVIEW STAFF ___________ Carrying an inventory of top-name recreational vehicle and marine products that is supported by an experienced sales and service team, Shoeder’s RV, Marine and Sport Center defied a sluggish economy in 2013 with its biggest year ever. The recreational giant of the North Woods posted more than $9.3 million in sales according to vice president and general manager Jess Spiegelhoff, who has been with the company for 14 years. “We have carefully pursued and selected manufacturers who are leaders in their industry and the most well respected,” said Spiegelhoff. “The partnerships allow us to carry the most trusted brands in the industry, products carrying names such as Ranger, Crestliner, Misty Harbor, Premier, Mercury, Yamaha, Evinrude, Jayco and Keystone.” Located on Rhinelander’s north side on Highway 17, Shoeder’s is built around an experienced, well-trained staff. Spiegelhoff said the company currently employs more than 25 people full-time and more than half of the staff has been with the company more than 14 years. The company was founded in 1995 by owners Keith and Sue Shoeder. It is situated on 40 acres of land on the shore of Shepherd Lake. With inventory of more than $4 million, Shoeder’s boasts a large selection of recreational vehicles (RVs), boats, snowmobiles, docks and lifts. A sales staff of five trained employees is ready to assist customers, while the service department includes eight experienced employees. A support staff helps with finance and warranty work. When it comes to variety, Shoeder’s is the place to shop. Snowmobiles include Polaris and Arctic Cat. The boat lines include Crestliner, Ranger, Misty Harbor Pontoons and Premier Pontoons. To compliment the boat lines, Shoeder’s carries Mercury, Yamaha and Evinrude motors along with boat trailer lines of Karavan, Shoreland’r, Trophy and Triton. The company also carries Shoremaster docks, lifts and accessories. The RV lines include Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheels, Eagle and Eagle Super Lite travel trailers and fifth wheels, Jay Feather, Jay Flight, Skylark and Octane and camping trailers. The Keystone line consists of Summerland, Passport, Springdale travel trailers and fifth wheels, Sprinter travel trailers, Copper Canyon fifth wheels and the company’s newest line of Outback travel trailers and Sydney fifth wheels. The enormous showroom at Shoeder’s RV & Marine on Rhinelander’s north side shows their diverse offerings, from Shoeder’s RV, Marine and Sport Center holds many awards, including Polaris all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and SNOW Century Club Winner seven years running. They also were named Smoker Craft Rookie of the Year. They also received the Mercury CSI award and is the No. 27 in the country for Ranger Boats. The Shoeder’s parts department has a large selection of clothing and apparel as well as a variety of accessories and parts. The parts department also oversees an enormous rental program. Sales team Spiegelhoff leads a sales staff that is ready to help customers select the proper equipment. He is factorytrained and certified with Jayco, Keystone, Crestliner, Premier, Ranger, Mercury, Evinrude and Polaris. Ken Brown has 19 years of experience, along with Jon Koch at 17 years and Kevin Hake at 14 years. They have the same training and certification as Spiegelhoff. The final salesman is Pete Schoetz. Shirley Hetrick, business manager, has been working in the accounting/finance field for 30 years and has been with Shoeder’s since March 2003. “I treat my position with Shoeder’s as snowmobiles to boats from Ranger and Crestliner and RVs from Jayco and Keystone. —NEWS-REVIEW PHOTO if I am part owner,” said Hetrick. “I put my heart in soul into it, and if there is a challenge I am going to tackle it head on. I help clients fulfill their dreams.” Hetrick said she put together a group of finance companies and banks that fit the needs of nearly every client that walks into her office. “My clients virtually just show up on their happy day when they are picking up their boat, travel trailer, snowmobile, etc. It brings me great joy to see a client literally busting at the seams with excitement,” said Hetrick. Spiegelhoff said Shoeder’s is able to be compete with any dealer in Wisconsin as well as any dealer in the Midwest because they are at the top-volume discount levels and purchase plans with all of the manufacturers. “We are willing to receive our products both in and off season, which gives us a purchasing advantage that we are able to pass on to the consumer,” he said. Rental units Shoeder’s has a large selection of rental units available throughout the year, including pop-up campers, travel trailers, snowmobiles and boats. They have a designated rental center for three-season rentals next door in what was the former Chrysler Center. They offer six 2014 Misty Harbor 22-foot pontoons with 60hp Mercury’s, four 2014 Jayco 26 travel trailers, 12 Jayco pop-ups, 10 jet skis, two Crestliner fishing boats, and four Glastron ski boats with 150-hp motors. There is a large staff to accommodate any customers needs, including pick up and delivery of any boat or camper where ever they may need to go. Winter rentals include 30 Arctic Cat snowmobiles that can be delivered per request. Service department The Shoeder’s service
