Innovator in the building industry
CornerStone develops foundation composite walls
CornerStone Custom Builders Inc.
has recently completed its 23rd year
building and supplying custom-built
homes varying in style, size and function to fulfill its customers’ visions
throughout the North Woods.
“We have always prided ourselves
on being an innovative business able to
adjust to the current trends and desires of our clients,” said Glenn Schiffmann, president of CornerStone.
In keeping this tradition of being a
leader and innovator throughout the
Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin construction industry, CornerStone
Custom Builders Inc. recently announced the launch of a new sister
company, Composite Panel Systems
LLC.
Composite Panel Systems (CPS) offers foundation composite walls, a
fiberglass composite foundation alternative to cast-in-place concrete that offers numerous benefits to the homeowner.
“In 2014, CornerStone will be offering this innovation in construction that
will replace traditional concrete block
and poured foundations,” said Schiffmann.
The foundation composite walls are
being fabricated on the CornerStone
corporate grounds in Eagle River, allowing future homeowners to get an
up-close look while planning their new
home. CornerStone customers also can
see this product in the field by visiting
the GreenStone model home located on
the Minocqua model campus. It features a full CPS foundation with lookout walls showcasing the many benefits and applications of foundation
composite walls.
Schiffmann said the composite foundation is code compliant, energy efficient, highly durable and comes standard as a 9-foot wall height for extra
head room. The foundation composite
walls feature an inherent R-15 insulation energy efficiency value.
“By simply installing batt insulation into the stud cavity, the insulation
R-value can be increased to R-30,” he
said. “Other benefits include creating a
warmer, drier, more comfortable,
healthier living space that is water and
fire resistant.”
The composite foundation also offers the flexibility for the homeowner
to easily modify or finish off their basement by themselves into the future.
Schiffmann said the development of
the composite foundation makes sense.
“By replacing cold and damp concrete walls with higher performance
composites, foundation composite walls
are revolutionizing the future of the
residential and commercial construc-
CornerStone Customer Builders Inc. now offers foundation composite walls through a new sister company, Composite Panel
tion industry,” said Schiffmann. “Composite products are consistently being
introduced into our daily lives because
of their durability, sustainability,
strength and longevity. From planes,
trains and automobiles to fuel storage,
military applications and everyday usages, composites are raising the bar for
performance-driven products throughout our lives.”
