Support for Clapham mums with
postnatal depression
The Cedar House Support Group is a registered charity based in Guildford, which helps support mums with postnatal depression.
The Clapham group meets on Fridays at 9.45am at St Stephens Centre,
Weir Road,SW12. A professionally trained counsellor (who also suffered
PND twice) runs the meetings. Liz Wise, the charity’s counsellor says:
“PND is such a terrifying illness and often mums suffer in silence. Our
group offers support and help when mums are feeling low and perhaps
lonely and very frightened”. Liz is also the PND coordinator for the NCT

Clapham NCT Twins and Multiples Support (TAMS)
Our Group for parents and expectant parents of multiples is looking for a new Coordinator! The group has a closed Facebook page (listed as "Clapham NCT Twins & Multiples Support (TAMS) Group") and offers both online and face to face support. The group was also recently approved by the UK multiples organisation TAMBA. Contact Emma on c[email protected] if you are interested in volunteering as the Group Leader.
Coffee Mornings
We need volunteers to host NCT Coffee Meetups in local cafes, to happen all over the Branch. Mums with bumps, babies, toddlers or just themselves are welcome to get involved. For more information on how to host contact Emma.
Are you expecting your first baby or new to the area?
Antenatal Welcome Evenings are a great opportunity to meet other parents-to-be who live locally and to find out more about the NCT Clapham & District Branch in an informal and relaxed setting. There is always plenty of time to get to know other parents-to-be too and we circulate the group's contact details afterwards so you can keep in touch.

Come along to St Luke's Community Hall, 193 Ramsden Road, SW12 on Thursdays between 2-4pm and meet one of our NCT practioners Julie, who will be there to answer any of your birth queries or early feeding worries, along with offering a cup of tea and a biscuit. It is currently closed for the summer, but do come along when it restarts on September 7th.
