REVIEW of Book:

We rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. Great book for teens! This book is

action-packed with a little romance! Divergent isn’t just a story, it’s an

action-packed thriller that gets you involved and connected to the

character’s and their emotions. The book is extraordinary and

surprising because you never knew what was going to happen next. It

started out suspenseful by the protagonist, Beatrice, having to choose

a faction. A couple people in our book club thought the beginning was

slow because they were used to the rest of the book being so

suspenseful. We felt this was true to life as you don’t choose a faction,

but you choose to do what your parents taught you or you may choose

to make your own path in life.

Why we recommend joining Mrs. White’s

Book Club:

Being able to discuss openly and honestly about the book was very

helpful in that every person in the group had a different view and idea

about the story and it made you think even more about the book. It was

nice to be able to discuss the book with people that have read the book

along with you. A few in our book club don’t read much and yet all of us

continued to read all three books in the series. Mariah read all three

books in one week. We felt the book selection was perfect. Usually we

go to the library and choose books we don’t like and have to keep

returning them until we find one we do like. It also helps

communication with others and makes you think more about what you

are reading. Juanita said she used to judge a book by its cover, literally,

and now she was taught not to judge a book by the picture on the cover

because you may be missing out on a good story if you do. Mackenzie

says the book is amazing and is anxious to read the entire series!
