Stephanie Ruedy grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School in 2007. She always
had a passion for baking and was an active participant in 4-H baking competitions and the school’s
FCCLA (Family and Career Consumer Leaders of America) program. After high school, Stephanie
attended Madison Area Technical College for the Baking and Pastry Arts program. She has worked
for numerous bakeries across the state, but always dreamed of opening her own bakery back in
Sparta. Stephanie continues to use recipes and tips from both of her grandmothers as well as her
mother, and combines this with the knowledge from her
schooling and experience from previous bakeries to create
her sweet treats.
Steph’s Cakes & Bakes, LLC is a new cozy bakery nestled
along Beaver Creek in downtown Sparta, opening on Oc-
tober 26. They offer a variety of scratch-made baked goods,
Door County coffee, and locally-made food products.
Known for decorated cakes for all occasions, you can also
find many other sweet treats in the shop that Stephanie has
created. Cookies, bars, pies, scones, cinnamon rolls, cheese-
cakes, and assorted pastries are offered in addition to sea-
sonal items. We hope to see you stop in!
