Volunteers Resource Fair to be Held in Sparta
Organizations invited to participate.
Sparta, WI – The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Volunteers Resource Fair on
Tuesday, May 14, in the Main Hall of Sparta High School, in conjunction with the taping of a public
television show on the subject of volunteerism in Sparta. Organizations that depend upon volunteers
are invited to utilize this opportunity to promote their mission and to recruit additional volunteers.
The Resource Fair will be held from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, just prior to the filming of an episode of “Next
Avenue - Community Conversations”, a production of Milwaukee Public Broadcasting, which will take
place in the high school auditorium beginning at 6:30 PM. The show will be taped in front of a live
audience. The events are free and the public is invited and encouraged to attend the resource fair and
the taping of “Next Avenue”.
John McGivern, host of “Around the Corner with John McGivern” is also the host of “Next Avenue -
Community Conversations”. McGivern was in Sparta last spring to tape the Sparta episode of “Around
the Corner with John McGivern” which was first broadcast last January. The Sparta episode will be
rebroadcast on Saturday, April 27, at 4:30 PM on Wisconsin Public Television.
