expand a person’s genealogy research. Learn how to
better understand and apply the results of DNA tests.
April 4: Cranberry Growing: Then & Now: explore the history and importance
of the cranberry, Wisconsin’s state fruit,
with Monroe County cranberry grower
Nodji Van Wychen.
May 2: More Fires, Floods, and Freaks of
Nature: Monroe County Disasters: learn
more about past county disasters, including:
the 1922 Ice Storm, the 1968 Sidney Hotel
Fire, and Tomah Flood of 1990. Presented by
Adam Balz.

May 30 (rescheduled): What was the CCC? The History & Legacy of the Civilian
Conservation Corps by Bruce Thayer. Learn more about the federal work
program that employed hundreds of young men during the Great Depression.
