SPARK Young Reporter Crystals, rocks and minerals are very important. They come from deep in the ground, the mountains, beaches… and crystal shops. (I asked for crystals for Christmas and got a beautiful set – that’s an idea for you, readers!) I went to a crystal and gem museum in Scotland over the summer. There were loads of gems and interesting things to see and study. There are even minerals from out of space called meteorites. Here are a few of them: Aft er I went to the gem museum I became even more interested and got into crystals and gems even more, and I grew my own crystals using a kit, with white vinegar, stones, food colouring and a bit of grown-up help. Here’s a photograph. Do you think they look inspiring? I have done a drawing of my favourite crystal. Can you send in your pictures or photographs? Tell me about your crystals if you’ve got any.
