Rumpelstiltskin By the Brothers Grimm This book is about a girl whose dad boasts that she can spin straw into gold (but she can’t really). I liked the way the pictures were drawn. My favourite character was Rumpelstiltskin because of the way he dressed and danced around. This book is for younger readers who enjoy fairy tales. Amya, age 5. Amya enjoys chess, swimming and learning Mandarin. She’s reviewed two books by Roald Dahl. Matilda This story is all about a little girl called Matilda. Matilda loved to read books and learn. She lived with her parents who didn’t like her reading and thought she was odd. Matilda was sent to school, where she met Miss Honey who showed her lots of kindness and love, but she also met Miss Trunchball, who was mean. The story was about Matilda’s special powers and all the fun she had with Miss Honey. All the characters were lovely, apart from her parents and Miss Trunchball. My favourite character was Miss Honey because she is nice when she teaches the children and not strict. She really cares for all the children she teaches. This book is good to read as it can help children understand being lonely. I would recommend this book to be read by every child in the world. CONTINUED SPARK 7
