If you think it’s hard keeping your bedroom
tidy, imagine what it must be like to keep 1,000
rooms at Windsor Castle looking good. Do you
think you could live in a castle with so many?
If you’re not sure, then there’s a surprise house
inside the castle that you might just wish you did
live in. It’s called Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.
It is a very grand house which has all kinds of
items in it that actually work, including taps with
running water, a fl ushing toilet and lifts! There
are even teeny-weeny books and pets too.

Look up to the
central round
tower and you may
be in luck to spot a colourful fl ag called the Royal
Standard. It’s a fl ag used to tell visitors that the
Queen is at home. Her Royal Standard will fl y on
April 21st, when she turns 91! Even at that age
Her Majesty will have work to do which includes
reading letters that Sparklers like you write to her!

Two very special large dolls wait for you to
admire them too. Their names are France and
Marianne and were a gift from the country of
France. They were played with by the Queen and
her sister Princess Margaret when they were
girls. France and Marianne come from Paris and
have a very fashionable wardrobe! They have
