Catch The Perseids! Soon to appear on 12th August, the Perseids are named after the constellation Perseus from where these meteors appear to come from. There are up to 80 meteors per hour illuminating the night sky. You can sit out in your garden to watch them too, if you’re lucky enough to be allowed to stay up until nightfall! Find a dark corner in your garden or anywhere away from street light. Look anywhere to the north. To avoid hurting your neck when you’re looking upwards, use a deckchair to sit in or lie down on a beanbag or blanket propped up by cushions. If you see one, note what direction it comes from, how bright it is and if it has any colour. Whoosh! Image: A .
