Memories and Dreams I've always wanted some sweet time, With the man who made me. I've dreamt of weeks and months with him, Yet all I've had is days. Never got enough of him, Never called him dad. Always felt I loved him, But never told him so. I've wished for a walk, I've longed for a talk, I've dreamt of a stroll, I've dreamt of a call... They're all just memories now, All is gone. Today, I went to school, And miles away, across the ocean, He went to walk. I returned home, happy about an A+, To know my dad... was more than gone... Swept past me, memories did, Of me as a baby, in his arms. Cried a lot, wept all I could, But I never thought I would. His parting left me broken, More than I could heal. But it taught me one big thing, To enjoy every moment, as it is. Arjun Dinukumar 8B
