Wecome back to a new school year!
Wecome back to the 2013-14 School Year! As always things are moving fast and furious and I am sure we are all trying to get our feet under us as we get off running. Last year the Faculty Development Committee began some new traditions, including a monthly e-learning newsletter. DeDe did a great job as creator, writer, and editor. This year we are moving to a new online format with the goal to model new tools and resources.
We look forward to continuing our traditions that promote sharing, collaboration, and student success. The faculty development committee will be working to bring you opportunities that meet your schedule and needs. Activities we look forward to continuing are:
1. Faculty & Staff Symposium Aug. 20th
2. Lunch and Learn activities
3. Monthly e-learning newsletter
4. Increased social networking for collaboration and sharing
5. Celebration of Scholarship and Service (mark your calendars now: expected date is April 11, 2011 - same day as the April Community Assembly)
6. Continued conference support (Lilly International Conference on College Teaching is scheduled this year for Nov. 21-24, 2013)
Spalding Faculty and Staff Symposium Podcasts
Did you miss a session? Were there more than 2 you wanted to attend? Each session will be recorded (using the tool and method selected by the presenter) and made available as podcasts. Any faculty or staff who watches a podcast (and enters their name) before the drawing on Monday, Sept. 2nd will be added to the second chance drawings for two more Amazon gift cards. The winners of the Second Chance Podcast Week drawings for the Amazon gift cards will be notified on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.
