This year has been a challenging year for Coventry branch as with all branches fewer members are taking part and we are all losing our younger members as they spread their wings and move on in life . Despite this the committee has pulled together and events have been successfully organised throughout the year .
SPA Coventry Branch Activities
Our main activities during this past year , Navratri and Shradh Bhajans are always a success with both young and old coming together and making these events a success . The support from our local members was overwhelming and as a team of executives we would like to thank them for their involvement and support for these events .
Our annual Father ’ s day charity walk and BBQ this year was enjoyed by a large group of local members as well as members from neighbouring branches , raising funds which will be donated to our local charity for 2017 , The Myton Hospice . It will be presented to the Hospice in December 2017 .
Ravi , Anup and Priya organised a children ’ s Christmas party for the younger members of the Samaj and this was very well received with activities of arts / crafts and games during the event along with a visit from Santa to end the event with presents for all . Thank you to all the parents who helped make this event a success .
A big thanks to Ravi who has also organised a couple of local Darts events and helped with this year ’ s HQ Sports Day . Congratulations to Kishan and Vikesh Mistry winners of 2017 Darts doubles , Vanessa Mistry , Ladies runners up in Pool and Milan Mistry , runner up in U12 ’ s badminton .
Coventry branch seniors have really excelled this year , organising monthly gatherings with guest speakers on current topics like Diabetes , bowel cancer , depression , also socialising by having bhajans and yoga sessions . They have had a few trips out , including a Hindu temple in Southampton and Portsmouth seaside , and most recently a trip to Blackpool to see the light show . This year they also celebrated Diwali by having a get together for all . It was nice for a lot of the elder members who don ’ t get out much to attend and enjoy themselves . committee for their efforts in helping and supporting the Samaj throughout the year .
Finally , as the year comes to an end , on behalf of Coventry Branch , we would like to wish all Prajapati members a very Happy and Prosperous 2018 . May the new year bring Good Health and Happiness for all of you .
