Often , Trustees are well meaning and have made do in the past . However , in the future , ignorance of the subject is not an acceptable excuse in the eyes of the law . Our members need to trust that we are delivering a benefit , and this is fundamental to our reputation and success . Trustees need to act in good faith according to your own constitution and to UK Charity Law . In many cases , it will be a case of tightening up governance , e . g . ensuring records are kept accessible and can be easily handed over to new committee members ; the use of cloud services is ideal for this .
Stating the obvious , as Trustees we are legally responsible for the strategic vision and management of charities .
