SPA BOLTON Walsall

- “ SPA Walsall and Birmingham teamed up together focusing on bringing the two communities together !”

Namaste and Welcome to SPA Walsall .

As we look back over the last 12 months , we realise how much of our lives have been influenced by the Samaj . We devote our time and energies to create , organise and participate in SPA events . These events are attended and enjoyed by many of our members , and there is an enormous sense of satisfaction for those who have organised the event , especially when it is well attended and received . Despite the hard work , it is wonderful to see the organisers and volunteers are there year after year . Each year this cycle continues , with a few minor changes . In essence , we have conditioned ourselves to accept this as the ’ norm ’. who do come along enjoy the evening , especially the younger children who have more freedom to move around the dance circles and learn the steps at their own pace and not become squashed by the masses .

Our Christmas gathering / party comes next . This is a family event and aims to get everyone to relax , sit back and play all sorts of games . It ’ s not just for the individual families , but for the bigger family …. the Samaj .

hundreds ! We took to the stage hosted by our Secretary and Mahila Leader . The ‘ victims ’, or rather the participants were asked to answer soul searching questions , such as “ Who makes the bed in the morning ,.... properly ” and “ Who makes the best cup of chai ?” The answer of course , is the chai walla . Right !

In Walsall our ‘ norm ’ starts with Shradhdh Bhajans , where our loved ones who are no longer with us are remembered . This is always a popular event ; with attendance increasing year on year and for this reason it makes it all the more special . The photos of our loved ones preside on the stage , whilst we sing bhajans in their memory , which creates a satisfying feeling of togetherness in the community .
We then move onto Navratri , which is held at Palfrey Community School with a few ladies singing raas / garba accompanied by musicians from the Mandir and our local tabla players . Over the years the attendance at this event has reduced , however , those
