Namaste and Jai Shree Krishna

We would like to thank all the members and trustees in supporting us carrying out Samaj duties for the year 2013-2014 . Without your support , we would not have achieved what we already have .

Charity
The highlight of the year has been our fund-raising . We would like to thank the members and volunteers who have generously supported the fund-raising activities of the Samaj for various charities . In particular for the Water Aid ( HQ charity ), we raised a mammoth sum of £ 11,545.46 , for the Philippines ’ Typhoon disaster we raised £ 2001 , and for the Uttar Khand floods we raised £ 561 . Samaj goes further in helping those SPA members who participate in charity events and who approach us for sponsorship towards their chosen charity . So far this year we have given sponsorship of up to £ 102.50 .
Volunteers
Our members are exceptionally loyal to the Samaj , with many providing
voluntary services for many years . The members of the various committees have worked extremely hard on the projects they take on . The volunteers provide a highly efficient and well regarded service to our members , without whom many events / programmes we organise would not have been possible . Your generosity and dedication is invaluable !
Volunteers are always required at the Samaj and we urge you to come and help us in whichever way you can . Volunteers come from all walks of life and are of all ages . Volunteer tasks are interesting and varied ranging from trustees roles , leaflet drops , membership fee collection , hall opening / closing during the week , helping with social and religious events etc - the list is endless . In return the volunteers gain new experiences and the satisfaction of doing something for the Samaj .
Our volunteers have worked very hard during the year . In addition , some other members have also regularly given voluntary services to the Association . It is very difficult to give an exact
monetary value of these services but at the current minimum rate , it would be estimated in excess of £ 80,000 .
The Association wishes to thank the members for their sincere support in both their attendance and the voluntary activities they participate in . We hope that you will continue this level of support in years to come .
