This has been an historical year in East
London’s branch calendar, as we were
honoured and proud to host SPA UK’s
final Pratinidhi Meeting for 2012/2013
at our branch on Sunday 12th May 2013.
This was also the first time ever any SPA
(UK) meeting was held in East London,
which is a historical event for SPA (UK)
too. I take this opportunity to thank the
SPA (UK) Executive Committee for giving
us this opportunity. I would also like to
thank all our Mahila and volunteers for
making this event a success.
It has been a historical year for our Mahila
Mandal too as Mrs Ranjanaben Vijaybhai
Mistry became the first Mahila from our
72
branch to volunteer and accept the SPA
(UK) Mahila Secretary position at the
Mahila Samelan on 14th April 2013. We
wish her all the success for the coming
year as Mahila Secretary. I take this opportunity to thank all
our kind donors, senior members and
volunteers for their support, without
whose help Mandal could not have
existed for the past 34 years.
This year our Mahila Mandal organised a
first trip to ‘Maha Kali Mandir’ in Wales.
This was a tremendous success, largely
due to the very hard work by the Mahilas
in organising this trip, and many such
events every year. Finally we wish success to all Prajapatis
in their chosen fields and our thoughts
are with family and friends of those who
have lost their loved ones.
We wish to thank the SPA (UK) Mahila
committee for organising the family fun
day at Wicksteed Park this year where
our members enjoyed themselves.
Our senior members have always been a
driving force for the Mandal and this year
they proved it by attending the Senior
Citizen Samelan. All those who attended
this function enjoyed the day and are
looking forward to such a Samelan in
2014.
