reston Branch continues to improve
with our aim to bring fresh new
ideas to Samaj events and activities
using feedback from our members.
One of our aims this year was to develop
our branch website. Since our last report,
our webmaster, Jayeshbhai Mistry, with
the assistance of Eleshbhai from London
has worked hard to develop the site. The
revamped website is now live and open for
In 2012, Natubhai Tailor and Khushalbhai
Kumar organised an overseas trip to
Italy in conjunction with Baba Holidays.
Following the success of this first
overseas trip, a 12 Day tour of Bali and
Malaysia has been organised by them
from 14th to 25th October 2013. The
response for this trip has been excellent
and we would like to thank all those
taking part in the trip and for supporting
the samaj venture. We wish all partaking
on the trip an enjoyable and memorable
trip of a lifetime.
Once again, one of our members,
(Jayeshbhai Lohar), was the lucky
winner of the Sports Kit draw run by
BAE Systems and won £600 worth of
sports kits for SPA Preston. BAE Systems
has been running this sports scheme for
local community for a number of years
and are pleased that our community
has benefited from it. Our members
are proudly wearing this new kit which
has the SPA Preston logo as well as the
sponsor’s name.
Finally, we take this opportunity to thank
all our committee and members for their
continued support and help throughout
the year.

Our cultural programmes includes
Shradhdh Bhajans, Navratri, Diwali
Show and the New Year gathering. Our
Diwali Show is the most popular event.
To ensure that we cater for all members
at the initial planning stage, member’s
feedback from the previous year is taken
into consideration, especially when
selecting the venue and timing. Our Diwali
Show Co-ordinators sought and prepare a
wide selection of items, producing a highly
entertaining programme. As well as stage
items, we have continued with the ever
popular Preston Diwali Show Quiz which
entertains and encourages all members
to participate regardless of their age.
