The last 12 months have been busy for SPA Bradford as we have conducted all major religious festivals as well as preparing for our 30th Anniversary Pran Pratishtha Mohatsav which was celebrated in August 2013 . Charity Work
Our members have been busy undertaking charitable activities throughout the year . Our chosen charity for 2012 / 2013 was the Bradford Royal Infirmary Special Baby Care Unit . This unit cares for sick and premature babies in Bradford . We raised £ 750 through a raffle held during Navratri and tombola events held by the Mahila during their Mahila gatherings .

On 9th June 2013 , the Mahila participated in the Cancer Research Race for Life in Lister Park , Bradford . It was a great effort for the Mahila to walk the 5km distance , and they raised £ 762 . Wearing our branch Samaj yellow t-shirts made our Mahila stand out from the crowd ! |
30th Anniversary
Over the weekend of 24th-25th August 2013 , we celebrated our 30th Anniversary Pran Pratishtha Murti Mohatsav . The festivities started with the annual ceremony of changing the Dhajas above individual bhagvan shrikars . As it was a special celebration we had organised a Rath Yatra around the Samaj building , taking photos of the individual murtis . Pujas were held with these photos before we were treated to some words from our guest , Shree Swami Keshvandji . This was special for us because when the mandir was established 30 years ago , Shree Swami Keshvandji performed the opening ceremony and it was good to listen to his memories .

After lunch we held the procession around the mandir in the streets , singing garba and performing dandiya raas . Although this was a much smaller procession than in previous years , a great time was had , and despite the poor weather leading up |
to the day , the Lords must have been looking down on us as the weather was great in the afternoon . Whilst the procession was going on , we held a Ganpati Yagna inside the mandir to ensure a safe event . After the yagna finished , we were treated to more blessings from Shree Swami Keshvandji . The Sunday festivities revolved around the Ram Yagna .
Core activities
Our main activity on a day to day basis is to run our mandir . Our thanks go to the Mandir committee who perform daily puja , Arti and Nityaniyam in the morning and evening . Our Mahila have continued to play a huge role in the Samaj throughout the year and taking responsibility for catering at major events . For the past 30 years the Mahila bring thaal on a daily basis which is immense dedication .
The Mahila have continued their Mahila gatherings on a monthly basis covering serious health topics as well as singing and dancing social events .
