Shradhdh Bhajans (13/10/2012)
As usual we had very good attendance
from the Samaj members. Members
enjoyed the bhajans and we are
looking forward to this year’s bhajan’s
which will be held on 28th September
2013.
Diwali Celebrations (1/12/2012)
We had a full day of fun and
participation amongst the members
of Coventry Branch. In the morning we
held a Cultural Show where we had
several younger and elder members of
the Samaj participate in dances and
singing Bollywood songs.
In the evening we had dinner & dance
with Karaoke and a DJ. All had a good
time and danced through the night.
Following on from the successful
Senior Samelan held by HQ, we
60
arranged further trips for our elder
Samaj members.
Trips (17 /8/2013)
Crawley Mandir / Brighton Beach trip:
Our first stop was Crawley Mandir
where we were able to spend some
time for reflection and bhajans,
before departing for Brighton Beach.
Although, the weather ended up
not being so kind to us, the trip was
well received and enjoyed by all. The
trip was well attended by our senior
members.
Following the success of the Mandir
trip, another trip to celebrate
Janmashtami was organised where
we were pleased to be able to invite
people from all Hindu Samaj’s within
Coventry to attend the festivities at
the Hare Krishna Temple in Watford.
During the trip we started our fund
raising for the Uttarakhand Flood
Relief Fund, raising £235 with the
generosity of our attendees. A Big
Thanks to All for the donations.
Father’s Day BBQ (16/6/2013)
This is our regular BBQ event. Due
to rain and cloudy weather the
attendance was lower than usual
however those who turned up had fun,
food and drink.
Forthcoming events that we have
planned with the aim of raising more
funds for Uttarakhand Relief, Water
Aid and local charities are Shradh
Bhajans, Navratri, Diwali Dinner and
Dance, 3 Peaks Challenge, Darts &
Pools night and various other small
initiatives throughout the year. We
shall be sending full details to you
all, so anyone wishing to attend the
events will be most welcome.
SPA Coventry Samaj is promoting
events to a wider audience and for
most of our events we are allowing
people outside of Samaj to attend.
Here our idea and initiative is to
accommodate people from smaller
