Each year when I think about preparing for our wedding issue I can’t help think if I were getting married I would love to run away to a spa. Maybe it’s my age showing but weddings are exhausting. I own a bed and breakfast http://www.walkerbrae.ca/ and my family and I host weddings up to 60 people. I think anyone getting married today needs to keep a balance and perspective as they easily get out of control with all the commitments involved in planning a wedding. Even the simplest things get totally exaggerated. If anyone out there can hear me…. “Treat the bride and groom with kid gloves”. They need kindness and compassion during those months or years of planning their day. And BTW that day is a blur and goes so quickly I am a big believer in the two or three day wedding but leave that for another story. That's why spas should be an import component of wedding planning. For the couple that starts off with everything a gift certificate (s) would be perfect for his and her massages, pedicures and facials. Wow to totally detox and unwind a few times during the wedding madness would be such a lifesaver…. literally! Of course the bride, she needs more than a mani/pedi for sure. How about a gift of a renewing facial a few weeks before the big day – to help enhance her radiance or a relaxing massage because she is tense. Spas are there to keep the equilibrium in your life, to help nurture and detox and distress. It's a good investment that we can all use wisely! And I think the bridal couple will thank you – Trust me!
