Originally named the Holy Cross Monastery built in 1931 it was established not only to house the Irish Christian Brothers, but also to provide additional school accommodations. In 2001, Monastery Spa & Suites took over the building and today is a thriving spa with a staff of over 60 with 20 suites that offer overnight accommodations. For weddings you can rent the reception room and build your wedding with the help of the staff. The area and culture of St. John’s is the perfect setting for a warm and inviting celebration. You and your wedding guests can enjoy the full service spa. The bride or groom-to-be might want to consider the very traditional but relaxing treatment called the Himalayan Rejuvenation Treatment. It is inspired by ancient Indian healing traditions, this five-stage treatment is detoxifying, while also promoting a deep mind and body connection. Beginning with a lymphatic stimulation, a full body exfoliation, and a vigorous Ayurvedic-style massage are enhanced by an aromatic steam canopy and finished with a relaxing Shirodhara - a warm stream of oil directed over the forehead to relax the nervous system and invite calm.
