Body Benefits Day Spa

When Melanie Bain was a teenager she suffered from cystic acne. Her mother took her to nearby London, Ontario to a spa for skin treatments. This inspired Melanie to get into the wellness business. Looking back in her life Melanie says, “In grade four I had fashion parties and played with makeup. My grandmother gave me her gifts with purchase from Estée Lauder and I loved it. I grew up in the country and thought my destiny was to become a Vet Technician but realized people can earn a living in the beauty business.” Melanie first started as a Makeup Artist and modeled at the age of 14 years old. At 16 she was the head of makeup for a small theatre. She studied Aesthetics at the D’arcy Lane Institute and worked in one of London’s largest spas during the late 80s, The House of Fremel. In October 1992, at the age of 21, she opened Body Benefits Day Spa. Melanie was also head of makeup for Miss Canada and Miss Teen Canada from 2003-2006.

Body Benefits Day Spa quickly became known for incredible facials and because of Melanie’s personal skin concerns, she wanted her customers to know what great skincare includes; “We do advanced two hour full facials with detoxifying lymphatic drainage, muscle toning facial massage and extractions.”

Good Facial advice: Results from a good facial last about 5 days. You need to use proper skincare products at home because it will take no time to undo the benefits from the facial. If you start using store bought petroleum based products, how long do you think those results are going to last?

The staff at Body Benefits Day Spa provide chemical peels and a variety of laser treatments for hair removal on dark or lighter skin tones, IPL (Intense Pulse Light) for age spots, skin tightening, vascular lesions, port wine stains, Rosacea and uses a blue light laser to treat acne.

“You have to have a good canvas to create your art. Not only what you put on your skin is important, but what you put into your body,” Melanie says.

“We want people to look good and feel better about themselves.”
