The Training Division is responsible for providing comprehensive EMS instruction and fire suppression training to all members of the fire department . Southlake Firefighters participate in a variety of regular exercises , live fire drills and specialized emergency medical training to ensure that consistent and effectual emergency services are continually provided to the residents and visitors of Southlake . In FY 16 , Southlake Fire completed over 12,000 hours of training and participated in 59 different training opportunities .
The Training Division is working to provide increased training in various formats to ensure staff gain the skills and knowledge required to be the best they can be at their job .
