Scuffle lands Milton man and son in hospital

An after-hours meeting in Cluett Schantz Park between two men and their sons to settle differences ended with the arrest of one and injuries for two others .
On the evening of January 29 , Manny Drivas and Hans Taylor , along with their high-school age sons , Max Drivas and Trevor Taylor went to the Town Park in Milton across from the basketball court to settle a score that had been brewing for some time .
As the sons got into it , police said the two fathers began fighting . At some point

The First Care Walk-In Medical Center in Highland recently began offering a unique procedure that addresses health issues that often affect women after childbirth and menopause .
Dr . Stephen Weinman said First Care has acquired the FemTouch AcuPulse laser machine that was developed in Israel by Lumenis , a leader in aesthetic , surgical and gynecology lasers .
The machine ’ s tubular wand is inserted all the way into a women ’ s vagina and delivers a gentle laser beam that is aimed at the vaginal wall five times in a 360 degree circle . The wand is then backed out slowly and again applies a beam in a circular fashion until the entire length of the vagina has been treated . Dr . Weinman said after treatment some women have reported that they can reach orgasm more easily because the inner tissue of the vagina is now tighter . He also explained that some women want to improve the exterior appearance of the vagina because as they age the labia gets bigger and spreads out . Using a different tip , the laser is able to shrink and tighten the outer tissue .
Weinman said a few women characterize the treatment as “ mildly uncomfortable ” but the majority have said they did not experience any significant pain during the treatment process .
Weinman said , “ It fires a very fine laser beam of light that causes microperforations in the skin of the vagina and when it does that the body instantly goes in and regenerates the tissue . When that happens it brings back what it has lost ; and what that tissue has lost in women who have gone through menopause is blood flow , thickness of the lining and the ability to lubricate because it ’ s the amount of blood vessels in that lining
Drivas lost his balance and fell about 30 feet over a stone wall , landing onto the property of the Milton Hardware . Drivas , owner of The Men ’ s Room hair salon in Milton sustained a broken wrist and damage to a finger and to his neck , along with dozens of stitches in his head . In addition , as Max Drivas went to his father ’ s aid , he sustained a back injury . Both were transported to an area hospital .
On January 31 Hans Taylor was arrested and charged with Acting in a
that causes lubrication .”
Dr . Weinman pointed out that after menopause many women complain about dryness of the vagina , which causes painful intercourse . He noted that in older women the “ bacterial growth in the vagina changes from more healthy bacteria to less healthy so what this laser does is restore the vascular element that is lost to bring back lubrication and elasticity and the proper bacterial environment .” He said many mature women also experience chronic urinary tract infections , which they often treat with an estrogen cream that is derived from the urine of female horses . He said because there is a low risk of cancer associated with the use of these creams , many women choose not to use them .
After childbirth many women also experience bladder leakage . Lasers are able to repair the area that has become weakened and stretched out by childbirth and can alleviate the problems of incontinence .
Manner Injurious to a Child [ PL 260.10 sub 1 ], a misdemeanor ; and Assault with Intent to Cause Serious Physical injury [ PL 120.05 sub 1 ], a felony . Taylor was arraigned before Judge Michael Kraiza and was released on his own recognizance . He is due to return to Town Court on March 28 .
The incident is under investigation by the Ulster County District Attorney .

Highland physician offers special laser treatment

Aesthetician Jennifer Pena and Dr . Stephen Weinman of First Care Medical Center in Highland stand beside the FemTouch AcuPulse laser machine .
Weinman said the FemTouch laser uses CO2 to create the light beam and can also be used to remove large moles , warts , acne scars and for smoothing wrinkles .
Weinman said a patient undergoes 3 five minute treatments that are usually spread out over a three month period . One study has shown that 100 % of women experience positive results . He said the treatment “ basically turns back the clock ” to pre-menopause for women .
Dr . Weinman said there are virtually no risks associated with the treatment .
“ It ’ s such a refined laser that its almost impossible to hurt anybody during the procedure . There could be a little vaginal discharge or bleeding after the procedure but its not much . All the laser does is help , it doesn ’ t hurt ,” he said .
Weinman said touch-up treatments may be needed because a post menopausal woman still does not produce estrogen , a hormone that supports the tissue in the vagina .
“ This laser is dramatic and I want to be the guy that someone goes to and they tell other friends because its so amazing ,” he said . “ This is important because many physicians do not know about this treatment and are still recommending treatments that are invasive and have medication side effects . I even had a patient go to her urologist and was offered treatment for minor bladder leakage that was invasive . Her doctor did not even mention laser vaginal treatments and this patient was surprised at this . I told her it ’ s not necessarily the doctor ’ s fault [ as ] we typically tend to do the things we know the best and have done for years and are not the first ones to know about new treatments . Also because this treatment is so new insurance companies do not cover it as insurance companies will cover an invasive surgical procedure .
