SGG Family Of Artists
The Townesmen & Shelly is a group that has been in existence for many years. Started by four laymen in a local church to sing for its services. Now, after 50 years, it consists of four servants of the church who love Southern Gospel Music.
Shelly Burch sings alto and brings a true passion for Jesus into her music and ministry with The Townesmen & Shelly. She is married to Pastor Mitch Burch and serves as a ministry leader at Towne Boulevard Church of God, in Middletown, Ohio.
She is an accomplished pianist, serves in the worship ministry and enjoys leading Women’s Ministry events in the local church.
Shelly loves serving with her husband in their ministry of 35 years. She also loves being Mom and Nanna to their two children and three grandchildren.
Ben Liston sings lead and brings several years of Southern Gospel music experience to the group. His powerful lead voice is an anchor to the group As a child he grew up singing in his father’s church and later joined his father’s ministry staff.
Ben has traveled full-time in Southern Gospel music but is now serving as Worship Pastor at Tytus Ave Church of God in Middletown, OH. Ben also serves as the assistant producer and director of the SGG events. Ben joined “The Townesmen and Shelly” in January last year.
Jeff Allison sings bass and brings a tremendous love for Southern Gospel music to the stage. As a student of the song, Jeff serves as Worship and Choral Director at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. Before joining “The Townesmen & Shelly, Jeff sang with the Weavers, Shouting Sounds, Abundance , Joint-Heirs and the Dayspring Quartet. Jeff is married to Lisa and has one son Craig. We call him “Big Jeff,” because is a big man with a big voice and an even bigger heart!
Mitch Burch sings baritone and brings many years of Southern Gospel music to the group. Mitch grew up in a musical, singing and preaching family. He has been in the pastoral preaching ministry for over 38 years and currently serves as Lead Pastor of the Towne Boulevard Church of God. He loves the close harmonies and southern blend of the Quartet sound. He has sung with several groups since his childhood, beginning with his family trio and New Sound Trio, Evening Light Trio, Disciples Quartet, Dayspring Quartet, Mercy River Quartet. Pastor Mitch is the founder, CEO and producer of all the SGG events. He and Shelly have been married 35 years. The Burch’s have two children, both in music ministry and three grandchildren.
