The name Greg Alexander is well known throught Southern Gospel Music circles throughout the country.

Over the years, he has traveled thousands of miles and has written some of the most loved songs in the industry.

However, in the late-1990s, Greg shifted his focus from singing to producing. Greg had stepped back from singing to produce and manage the Smoky Mountain Recording Company.

In 2000, at a Walmart meeting in Princeton, Wva., Greg was asked by a regional manager of Walmart "Why don't you sing anymore?"

Out of that conversation Eventide was born.

Initially the members of Eventide were the demo singers for Planet Nashville's Southern Gospel soundtrack line, which was sold in Walmart and Christian bookstores nationwide.
