Thomasville, AL Thomasville Convention Center Thomasville Convention Center Thomasville has always been progressive, achieving much attention in Alabama and beyond. It has completely redeveloped its downtown business district along with its old elementary school, which houses municipal offices and a civic center. The theater is used for a variety of performances by an active local Arts Council. There is a community concert band -- the Flying Bricks -- so named for newspaper writer Earl Tucker’s column, “Rambling Roses and Flying Brick Bats.” The theater’s repertory company is named the “Rambling Rose Players.” The Arts Council also sponsors the Kathryn Tucker Windham Ghost Walk annually -- named for Windham’s “13 Alabama Ghosts.” Many of Windham’s stories are about life in Thomasville, a place that is very welcoming of new people.
