Me et the A r t i s t When you ask California artist, Cindy Ellis, why she chose to make roses her life’s work, the answer may surprise you. Everyone has a story. Everyone is on their own personal life journey. These are facts in every person’s life. But Ellis knows that finding the right path or the direction on one’s journey is no easy task. We look for signs and guideposts, things that have meaning and make some sort of sense in our own minds. “Roses represent more than just beauty to me,” said Ellis. “Not only do they connect me to nature and our Creator, but it’s the journey of the rose, the life process of the rose. It begins as a tight bud, a promise, and then blossoms into this beautiful, fragrant, vibrant thing. Roses are a symbol of life and of healing.” Ellis went on to say. As a young girl growing up in less than ideal circumstances, Ellis would find solace in an old, rambling house on her way to school. “I would always stop and look at the old fashioned rose garden and the orange orchard. The house reminded me of something in a Tasha Tudor illustration. When I saw the house, I knew there was beauty in the world. The roses gave me a sense of serenity and peace. Everything seemed well and I somehow knew that things would be alright,” said Ellis. HERE TO DO WNLOA DA CLICK
