CRAFT BEER PICKS WITH CHALIE BEATTY

A great meal has multiple courses to complement the evolution of the dinner. I think multiple beer styles complement the different moments of a great get together. Since it's the peak of summer, here are six beers that are sure high light each part of your BBQ.

Chalie is a craft beer blogger, home brewer and all around beer enthusiast. His unique handle is a fun tribute to St. Arnold, the patron saint of brewers. Legend has it that when St. Arnold's parishioners were moving his body after his death they stopped at a tavern but the tavern only had a little bit of beer. The parishioners prayed and they got a beer, and the cup never ran empty. You can follow Chalie on Instagram at Mug_of_St_Arnold.

Working the grill always makes me thirsty, so I tend to have a beer in hand. Rogue's American Amber Ale is an ideal companion to the tongs.

This copper colored ale is well balanced between the sweet biscuity malt and approachable grapefruit and pine hop flavors. This beer will cool you down from the heat of the grill.

Yard games always make an appearance at my BBQs. A beer with some with some bite goes well with some light hearted contests. Local brewery Due South's Category 3 IPA has enough hop bite with bitter notes of biter red grapefruit to go with your game of bocce. This amber colored ale balances out with sweet caramel malt towards the finish

With guests arriving and still setting up a little, I like to enjoy a lighter beer and Victory's Prima Pils is perfect. This pilsner pours a golden yellow color and has notes floral hops, lemon zest and bready malts. This beer is light, refreshing and a great way start to a BBQ.
