Holiday Destinations - Overseas C’AN PAU SOLLER- MAJORCA C’an Pau which means “House of Peace “has been in our family for nearly seventy years. It was bought by our grand-parents and we are the third generation who have the privilege of owning this wonderful house. It is an original Spanish Finca rather than a faceless whitewashed villa which is loved and cared for. We rent it out so that we can spend all the proceeds in continuous maintenance and improvement. It is difficult to describe it properly. However, we have, what we believe to be a good web site: which shows the inside and outside as well as giving a flavour of the beautiful surrounding area. C’an Pau is in the small hamlet of Biniaraix tucked away in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains away from the main tourist tracks. Yet it is only a ten minute drive to Soller , a bustling small town which is generally agreed to be nicest in Majorca. Biniaraix, has a café/bar and a small restaurant both with outside terraces; great places to relax and marvel at the beauty of the surrounding mountains. The café is literally next door to the tiny 12th century church of St Philip of Neri where, Hazel was married. Walkers and picnickers all set off across the Torrente and into the mountains for a day of tranquillity whilst the very fit head on the walk to the monastery of Lluc. C’an Pau sleeps ten, has its own private pool and, although an original Finca ,has every modern convenience needed for a great holiday. There is a small farmers’ cooperative only a five-minute drive away where you can buy most of your daily requirements and Soller has two excellent supermarkets. Our friends and neighbours ,Jordi and Catalina, have looked after our house for over thirty years and are on hand to sort out any problems you might have. From Soller you can take a wonderful old train across the mountains into Palma or go by tram to Puerto Soller which has an excellent beach and loads of cafes and restaurants. The “Availability “calendar on our web site shows clearly what can still be booked and there is also a “Prices “button. If you can’t find the dates you would like this year why not make an early booking for 2019 and give yourself something really special to look forward to. You can contact us through the web site or, if you prefer, give our dad, Mike, a ring on 01494 881176. He would be only too pleased to answer any questions you might have.
