This is the second edition of the South Asia Jurist Magazine and it relates to the topical issue of Climate Change and environmental law.

Climate change has affected the South Asia in past two decades severely. While this edition was being written by our esteemed writer during the month of October 2013, Cyclone Phailin was thrashing the Indian coasts and flooding some rivers in Nepal. The effect of the changing environment is felt on a daily basis by the citizens of South Asia and it is a very severe impact.

In this edition, we will see how different states have used Environmental law to impact on the Climate Change. While each country provides a different narrative of struggle towards the forces of nature, and using Law as a tool to affect the human behaviour playing a vital part in the changing climate. The readers will conspicuously find a lack of combined efforts to combat climate change at South Asian level.

As always, sincerely gratitude is expressed to all our contributors who have taken time to write these excellent articles. We have been fortunate that we have two feature articles by leading practising lawyers in the field of Environmental Law. We also have had some new writers joining as contributors which has been an exciting addition to our team. Furthermore the regular writers from SAJ team who as always have worked tirelessly for this endeavour. A sincere thanks also to Neha Bhat who joined the Editorial Board in June and was with us for the first edition. She has had to leave the board because of other preoccupations and we wish her all the best in her activities.

Finally, thank you reader for your continued support. Hope you enjoy this edition of SAJ.
