GIFT GUIDE

&

HIS HERS

For the girl you’ve dedicated your life to: Fill in the blank

Stop reading. Seriously, and get rid of any other “gift guide” or “what to get the girl in your life list” you also have. Well, stop reading after this paragraph.... (and finish the rest of the magazine as well). Of course she’ll love any gift you get her, even if you got the idea from someone/somewhere else, because at least you took the time, right? (Trust me, she will know if you chose a generic gift. We always know.) But think about how much more she’d love a gift that you put your heart into! You may completely strike out, but the fact that it’s something you did all on your own will mean the world to her. Hey, if you do get it completely wrong, it will likely turn into a pretty funny memory for the future.

For any girl: Dainty necklace

Every girl needs a staple piece in her jewelry box. That one piece she knows will always complete her outfit no matter what she’s wearing. The good thing is that you don’t have to break the bank to find the perfect one. To keep it simple, you can’t go wrong with an initial charm like this one that I’m obsessed with from Nordstrom. I personally have had this one for about 5 months and wear it almost daily. It’s great quality and has held up perfectly. It comes in gold and silver. A simple heart pendant is another great option, and this one from Kate Spade is darling. If you want to kick it up a notch, try a simple solitaire pendant like this one from Zales. It comes in gold and silver and is timeless and elegant, something every girl needs.

For the girl that would rather stay home and have a night in with movies: Comfy throw + an old “chick flick”

I know this one seems pretty basic, but the perfect throw can turn around any day. You definitely don’t want to focus on price here, but instead, you want to focus on material. Faux fur is always a safe bet. Not only is it super soft, it is also trendy and easily matches any decor. This oversized one from Kohls is a great start (and also turns out to be a great price). If she’s more of a fleece girl, Nordstrom has one in multiple color options at an awesome value. Add in an old, yet timeless “chick flick,” and you’re golden. I’d highly recommend Sleepless in Seattle. It’s the perfect “rom com” that isn’t too cliché, and who doesn’t love Tom Hanks)?
