song. If you are, the Lord will use you to advance into new territory. The new song is everywhere and is available for all who have ears ready to hear and mouths ready to sing. new song in 1 Corinthians 14:15: “So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.” Some people have read this Scripture and come to the I want to give you three keys for opening conclusion that it’s more important to yourself to singing the new song. If you pray and sing with their understanding put these into practice, you will find than praying and singing in the Spirit. yourself in a new realm of glory. That is the wrong perspective. 1. Make Music in Your Heart In Ephesians 5:18, we are instructed to be filled with the Spirit, which happens as we sing songs from the Spirit. Actually, this is a reciprocal instruction. I’ve discovered that those who are filled with the Spirit spontaneously praise as a natural response to being filled. The Spirit gives you His sounds, rhythms, and songs. The key is to allow that song to come forth from your spirit. Don’t be afraid to hum, whistle, or sing the melody that the Spirit places within you. When you first recognize it, it will come without words. You might sing “la-la-la” or “do-do-do,” but God will take that melody and use it in a supernatural way. When you release the sound God places in your heart, it will open up an entirely new realm into the supernatural. Recognize that everything begins in the Spirit. We cannot properly pray with our own understanding. It is the Spirit who gives us insight into the thoughts and intents of God. Singing is the same. We must do it first in the Spirit. Once you make melody in your heart, sing that tune in the Spirit. If you haven’t yet received your prayer language, I would encourage you to read my book, Simple Supernatural , and allow me to pray with you to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues. Then, sing in the Spirit and allow the Spirit of God to sing through you. 3. Sing with Your Understanding The final step to singing the new song is to transition from singing in the Spirit to singing with your natural understanding. You may be amazed by what the Lord has been speaking through you when you translate your song in this way. There have been times when I’ve sung over nations and other times when the new song comes forth as a simple declaration over my personal life. 2.
