A COMMON
STRUGGLE
Sheila, what motivated
you to write about
dealing with difficulties
in your new book, In the
Middle of the Mess?
Sheila: I wrote In The
Middle Of The Mess to
help women understand
that until we see Jesus
face to face there will
always be struggles,
always a mess. This
64 Solutions
doesn't mean that
we don't love God or
that we're not being
faithful, or that He is not
with us–it just means
we're still on this earth.
So many women feel
that they are the only
ones struggling. I pray
this book will help them
understand that they
are not alone, they have
a sisterhood and they
have a Savior.
In the book, you share
a very personal struggle
surrounding the death of
your father. How difficult
was it to “bare your soul”
before an audience of
millions?
Sheila: It’s never easy for
anyone to admit their
private shame publicly.
