The Energetic Facelift - Naturally Beautiful Skin – Your questions answered

How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work ? We ’ ve all heard the phrase “ beauty starts from within .” To help your skin we look to improve the flow of blood and “ chi ” ( energy ) within your body to achieve greater balance . When your body is balanced your skin is more radiant . On a physiological level acupuncture has been shown to increase circulation throughout your body improving both muscle and skin tone . The ultra-fine needles inserted into both the face and body affect collagen and elastin production .
Why are needles also placed in the hand , leg and foot ? There are specific points on the body that help the circulation of the blood and chi in the body and these are included in the treatment so your whole body benefits . Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments are based upon traditional Chinese Medicine and are tailored for each individual . We look at the constitution of the person and any current symptoms or problems they are experiencing , e . g . digestion issues , headaches , lower back pain . These symptoms can also be addressed during the treatment .
I ’ ve read online that this is a new cosmetic must-have for celebrities , is this the same as your treatments ? Yes , it is the same . A-Listers like Alicia Keys , Angelina Jolie , Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Aniston to name a few , have all been known to include Acupuncture as part of their wellness programs . “ I really love acupuncture – it helps balance energy in the body and it ’ s very relaxing .” - Alicia Keys .
How should I prepare for a treatment ? Patients should eat a light meal a few hours prior to the treatment . Comfortable and loose fitting clothing is advised . I recommend avoiding alcohol both before and 24 hours after a treatment .
How long do treatments last ? A typical treatment is approximately one hour . Some light facial massage followed by insertion of ultra-fine needles which are left in the body for between 20 – 30 minutes . First we take a detailed medical history and tailor the treatment for each individual based upon their unique needs .
How frequently will I need to have treatments ? Depends upon the individual however , initially we recommend a series of ten treatments followed by a treatment every two weeks . While results are often noticeable after a few treatments , a course of treatments is recommended for more lasting effects . Following a healthy diet , taking regular exercise and watching your exposure to the sun will enhance the overall results .
How quickly will I see results ? 90 % of those who participated in a study published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture saw a marked improvement after only their first treatment . Results are cumulative , fine lines will be reduced , pores tighter and your complexion more radiant .
Where did you train ? I have been studying and combining techniques in Acupuncture , Qigong and Reiki to develop a unique treatment which helps balance both mind and body . I believe that mind , body and soul are interconnected with an innate healing capacity . Having studied in Canada I was fortunate to benefit from the wisdom and teachings of renowned masters in Chinese Medicine and Qigong . I combine my knowledge and experience to provide a unique treatment for each client .
