An unforgettable week in Competa...
...with the 5th international Art symposium Luz. From October
12 to 19 the charming mountain village of Competa played host
to the 5th international Art
symposium Luz. A unique
group of artists from around the
world came together through
the joint efforts of Galeria Luz
de la Vida and the cultural
association Luz de la Vida to
take part in this special event.
Main organiser Lieuwke Loth,
an artist herself and gallery
owner, leads the event every
year.
Come and see the exquisite art in our gallery Luz de la Vida in
Competa! The art is on show till the end of November and all
art pieces are for sale.
Friendships were made and
many ideas, much laughter and
expertise were shared within the
group. For Competa this event
brought new dynamics, and
visitors who visited especially
for the symposium, to indulge
themselves in the creative vibes
and beauty of this mountain
village. The artists have now
returned to their homelands
with new inspirations and
memories of beautiful
experiences.
German Sculptor, Wieland
Schoeffner created a work from
local stone whilst Lebuin
Yu Chin, China
D’Haese produced sculptures
from clay. With the othere
eleven artists choosing to use the medium of paint (oils,
acrylics and inks) the stack of blank canvases they had at the
start became a display of diverse and high quality art. Saturday
19th October celebrated both the end of the symposium and
the beginning of the new International art exhibition in Galeria
Luz de la Vida.
