Hello and welcome to the June edition of Soltalk! you. Enjoy your meals all of you we at Soltalk are all jealous!
First of all we would like to thank all those of you who took the
time to complete our Survey (See Soltalk May 2018). And
thanks too for so many great comments and suggestions,
although overall the readers who completed it seemed to be
very satisfied with what we have done to date, there is always
room for improvement isn’t there? June is a fabulous month here in Nerja and as usual it is
marked by the opening of the Nerja Caves Festival, see
Smalltalk on page 20, for more details. It is also the month for
La fiesta de San Juan on June 23rd. Many beaches will be home
to tents and camp fires for the night with an official party
scheduled for 10.30pm at Burriana Beach.
We wanted to make
sure that our prize
draw for three lucky
winners of
restaurant vouchers
was all done fairly,
so we asked Karen
(pictured right with
me), owner of
Villasol Real Estate
to do it for us and
she kindly agreed.
All the names of
people who
completed the
survey were duly printed and cut out, placed into a bag and
three were drawn at random by Karen. And the winners were...

On Thursday June 14 it is time to say happy 16th birthday to
Irish Annies Bar! They will of course be doing something extra
special all day to celebrate - for more details see their
advertisement on page 21.
And also this June, for those that way inclined, there will be
more football than ever with the World Cup happening in
Russia, see our World Cup Match Planner chart on page 36 for
details of who is playing who, when, where and which bars you
can watch the action in!
Today I received news of a Charity dinner in aid of the Spanish
Association Against Cancer. It will be on Saturday, June 9 at El
Sevillano Restaurant on c/ Los Huertos at 9:30pm. Tickets cost
€30 and can be purchased through the Association members or
at their headquarters at the Centro de Información Juvenil, c/
Cristo Nº 12, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 5pm - 7pm.
