The female was wearing a rusted over check collar. Both dogs were alive with ticks and I itch just writing this. We went directly to our local vet and they tested positive for tick fever (anaplasma). They were treated and kept overnight, the ticks falling off of them like a horrifying case of dandruff. The next day we picked them up and decided to foster them. We wanted to keep them for their month of treatment using the time to socialize them with humans, dogs, cats and the odd turtle. Both dogs have no problem with cats, cars, scooters, other dogs or people. They walk well on a lead. Ideally we’d hope to home them together as they did so well as a team faring off the land. However every day they grow more and more confident so we believe they could also be homed alone. Both Jacob and Jasmine have been chipped, vaccinated and have passports. And both will turn a house into a home. Jacob Could you help? CAS is always in need of more volunteer helpers in a number of areas, so if you have spare time to fill, please make contact! In particular, more fundraisers are needed to work with our team. In addition, fosterers are always required to take short-term care of animals until a permanent home can be found for them. Even if you are only here for few months a year, CAS would appreciate your help. For a no-obligation chat, contact Vera on 95 252 9670 for general enquiries. Simone on 619 903 815 can answer queries about airport runs in English, German or Spanish. Jacob is gentle, extremely “noble”. We estimate him to be around two to three years old. He weighs 32kg and is a Boxer/Labrador/Mastin Jasmine mix, if such a thing is possible. He loves to run and play fetch though he’s still a rank amateur at this point. He hasn’t as yet learned to catch the Kong in his mouth, but clumsily flails with his forepaws to no good effect. This is amusing. And despite the tough times and uncertainties, money is always needed to cope with the continuous flow of abandoned dogs and cats requiring help from CAS. If you could donate a little to help the animals, CAS would be most grateful. We’re guessing she is three to four years old, possibly the mother of Jacob. She is 27kg, a Schnauzer/Spanish Shepherd mix with coarse black hair. “Jazz” is extremely loyal and protects the house from any perceived threat (between naps). 51
