Stolen Masterpieces: the Most Sensational Art Thefts in History is a fully illustrated lecture by Shauna Isaac Centro Cultural, Calle Granada, Nerja Tuesday January 14, 2020 at 6pm Guests welcome; €10 Sponsor: Blevins Franks. Copenhagen is ahead of much of Europe in developing principles of sustainability, creating ecosystems that are whole, using technology for harmonization. Copenhagen is setting an Vincent van Gogh example for others to follow. The city is a soundbox of ideas, many as yet unrealized, that will give us hope for our collective future. Shauna Isaac will talk about famous works of art that have been stolen; masterpieces by Munch, Rembrandt, Vermeer and others. She will talk about why thieves steal and the appeal of famous masterpieces. She will also discuss how art theft is the third largest Gustav Klimt international crime after drugs and weapons, and the implications of this. Shauna Isaac is a lecturer and she is currently managing an art recovery company. She has also served on the Looted Art Work Group for the Holocaust Era Assets Conference in Prague, where she was instrumental in drafting the Terezin Declaration on Nazi looting. Rafael Anderson has had an international career working on prestigious projects in Hong Kong, China, the UK, Denmark, Sweden and India. For the past several years he has been living and working in Granada and the Alpujarra.
