Ho Ho Ho and welcome to the December issue! Yes Christmas
is coming but surely it’s only a few weeks since we were
complaining it was too hot? How did that happen?
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf
of all of us at Soltalk for the wonderful support of our
advertisers, contributors and of course readers throughtout the
year. And a very Merry Christmas to you all. Here’s to another
great year, who knows by this time next year they may have
even sorted out Brexit one way or another!
There seems to be a lot of festive spirit around already and
plenty of carol services and Christmas markets to choose from
this month. And I thought Jottings was particularly good this
month so much so that there was nothing I could take out in
order to fit in this last paragraph hence I am including it here...
News comes our way of a new Christmas treat on sale this
month at Poppies, a fish and chip shop in the Soho district of
London. We thought foodies had tried to deep-fry everything,
but this eatery is offering deep-fried Quality Street chocolates.
Tests have already shown which of the famous confectionary
selection are most popular with the deep-fried Toffee Finger at
Number One, followed by the Purple One (chocolate filled
with hazelnut and caramel) and the Chocolate Caramel
Brownie (the one in the cyan wrapper.) Least successful choc
out of the fryer is apparently the Coconut Éclair.
Mmmm I bet that’s not very calorific! That’s it for now, have a
wonderful Christmas and enjoy this issue.
