Royal British Legion, Nerja Our annual Poppy Walk, scheduled to take place on 14 October, was postponed due to the heavy rain that day. However, undeterred, 12 participants reassembled the following Sunday and walked from Maro to Nerja raising over €1,100 for the 2018 Poppy Appeal (see picture). welcome to join us at the Caves Restaurant, Maro on December 12, at 7 for 7.30. The RBL Nerja Branch wishes you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful 2019. Remembrance weekend was a busy time for RBL Nerja. Over 100 people attended our Poppy Ball on Friday November 9. They enjoyed a wonderful evening with dinner, wine, entertainment and dancing. Then on Sunday November 11, over 200 people came to our Remembrance Day ceremony as we paid tribute to those who lost their lives in past conflicts particularly remembering those lost during World War One. This was followed by lunch at the Caves restaurant. The weekend’s events raised a further €1,000 plus. Many thanks to all those who participated in and generously supported these events.
