Burned body
A man ’ s incinerated body was found inside a burnt-out car in Sevilla last month . Fire crews were called to a car park in the Palmas Altas district after a great quantity of smoke was spotted . They made the grim discovery of the charred remains and police are now trying to identify the victim .
Airport arrest
A 59-year-old terror suspect has been arrested in Barcelona . He has dual Turkish and Swedish nationality and was detained while trying to board a flight to London . The suspect is wanted by Interpol for allegedly plotting terrorist attacks and is likely to be extradited to Turkey .
Hotel blast
One person died and seven were seriously injured in an explosion at a Tarifa hotel last month . They are all staff who were in the kitchen when an electricity transformer belonging to Endesa blew up for reasons which remain under investigation . Four men and four women all suffered extensive burns , two of them with injuries covering 90 per cent of their bodies .
Security call
Cártama has called for an increased police presence in the town following a wave of robberies . Almost all schools have been attacked in the last year while two municipal vehicles disappeared , one of which later turned up in Torrox . Mayor Jorge Gallardo says Cártama has fewer Guardia Civil officers on the ground than Coín and the Alhauríns , despite being second most populous .
New trikes
Pizarra has invested € 2,400 on two electric tricycles for its cleansing and gardening workers . The vehicles are recharged overnight , emit no gases and little noise . Mayor Félix Lozano said the purchase of the Málaga-manufactured trikes is one of the ways the municipality is working to be more sustainable .
Pool drama
It took fire crews 90 minutes to free a seven-year-old boy whose arm became trapped in the filter of a swimming pool last month . Emergency services were called to an urbanisation in Málaga ’ s Teatinos district and had to break the edge of the pool to reach the filter and cut it apart . The child was admitted to the Hospital Materno for treatment to his injuries .

British tourist caught with laser pen

A 41-year-old British tourist faces a fine of up to € 600,000 after he was caught aiming laser beams at aircraft coming in to land at Málaga ’ s airport . He and his 15-year-old son were spotted in a Torremolinos hotel by an off-duty police officer .
The incident last month began at around 11.00pm when three pilots reported to the Málaga control tower that they had been dazzled by a beam of light coming from the Bajondillo district of the town while on their final approach .
The Guardia Civil were immediately alerted but an off-duty officer , who was also staying at Hotel Don Pablo in Torremolinos , saw the man and his son on the terrace of their apartment pointing green laser lights indiscriminately into the sky and onto nearby vehicles . He took pictures of the pair and alerted local police who

Exports to UK up

Agricultural exports from Andalucía to the UK have increased since the British referendum on membership of the European Union . Despite Brexit , in the 12 months to May this year , Britain imported food and drink from Spain totalling € 971 million , a rise of 15.6 per cent on the same period in 2015-16 .
The figures were announced last month in Sevilla by the region ’ s Department of Agriculture , Fishing and Rural Development which said the biggest export was raspberries which accounted for € 126 million of the total . Olives accounted for € 107 million , followed by strawberries , tomatoes , peppers and cucumbers .
Amongst Andalucía ’ s regions , Almería exported the highest value of goods to the UK followed by Huelva and Sevilla . Málaga and Granada exported € 49 million and € 39.9 millions of food respectively to the UK . Regional agriculture councillor Rodrigo Sanchez said that , despite the uncertainty caused by Brexit , exports from Andalucía to the UK continue to grow ,
identified the suspects and confiscated two laser pointing devices shaped like pens .
The Provincial Police Commission said the man and his son had been guilty of an offence under Public Safety Act and could face a fine of between € 30,001 and € 600,000 . The incident was also denounced by the pilots union USCA which said that external lasers entering the cabin of an aircraft bounced off various surfaces , obscuring the instruments while the crew are concentrating on landing safely .
In the UK , where the Civil Aviation Authority recorded 1,258 instances of lasers being aimed at aircraft last year , the government has announced that it is considering whether to curb sales of such devices . In a discussion document published last month , it has suggested that both retailers and owners should be licensed .

Drunk driver
The driver of an Alsa coach travelling between Madrid and Murcia last month was found to have five times the maximum permitted level of alcohol in his blood . Guardia Civil officers stopped the bus on the A-3 after passengers reported his dangerous driving by phone . Alsa sent a relief driver and the journey was concluded safely .
