Beauty Hair needs protection too It's that time of year again, when your hair goes mad for at least six weeks and you can’t do a thing with it. Here are a few words from “the wise” on how to cope with your hair when the heat is on. When you are out and about try and wear a loose fitting cap or hat or why not try a scarf or bandana? With shorter hair get out the Velcro rollers to get that extra bit of oomph, add a hair band, plain or jazzy, and backcomb extra height on the crown for that dressier look. Try and keep your hair, if it’s long enough, tied up in plaits or a bun. It just helps stop total exposure to the sun. When you are putting your suntan lotion on your skin why not put an extra helping on your hair, comb it right through to the ends for extra protection. Style wise, fringes are not the easiest thing to have on your forehead when it’s sweltering. Bobs are still the order of the summer, layered and a bit more shaggy. And for all those who are here through the hot spell there is only one colour and it’s always lighter than we start with, once the sun has had its wicked way with our hair. So cover up, protect and moisturise you as well as your hair when the heat is on. Always wet your hair before going into the swimming pool, it will help to stop some absorption of the chlorine into the hair from the water.
