Real Estate Expansion
Well known local Real Estate Agent , C & G Inmobiliaria , have recently completed a major expansion of their premises in Calle Pintada , Nerja . Buoyant property sales together with a high demand for holiday lettings have seen the need to recruit more staff to cope with current and future market requirements . Owner Pepi Galiánez , who herself has 37 years experience in the business , says “ We have been successfully selling properties in Nerja and the surrounding area for 17 years , we have built up an extensive network of both local and international contacts . The business has grown a lot and includes sales , holiday lets and property services . As a result , we now have more staff and are still recruiting . We outgrew our previous offices .”
Late last year C & G acquired the premises adjacent to their current office which is in a prime location in the centre of Nerja . The expansion allows clients to be dealt with in comfortable and when necessary private surroundings . Royal British Legion
The Nerja branch of the Royal British Legion has been fortunate to welcome several new members , and as well as swelling the numbers they are all enthusiastic and willing to give their time and energy to our efforts to raise money for the Legion . Anyone who has ever been involved with charity work will know how important it is to have support and interest in whatever you are trying to achieve . So to those who have recently joined , please don ’ t ever doubt our gratitude , we value your contributions . Your input will be of particular importance this year as we celebrate 100 years since the end of the WW1 , 30 years since our branch was founded and 100 years since the formation of the Royal Air Force . We will hold events to mark each of these , and details will follow once final arrangements are made and of course we

Thirty years ago Brigadier Billy Beyts ( pictured ) and some other retired service men and women decided to form the Nerja Branch and it was inaugurated on the September 23 , 1988 . The membership then was 33 and we are lucky enough to still have some of these founder members still with us . It is to their credit that the branch was and still is active and lively . Billy was a serving member of the Army for 21 years before moving to Kenya . He eventually settled in Nerja with his wife Linda . Our branch has seen its fair share of characters , such as Jake Sanders , Charlie and Peggy Howe , Jim and Vera Bromley and many many others . To them all we say “ Thank you ”. Without your efforts there would be no branch today , and what a pity that would be .
The Doctor ’ s Dilemma
On Tuesday February 6 , The Nerja Players will entertain you with a rehearsed reading of a play by George Bernard Shaw “ The Doctor ' s Dilemma .” Abridged , adapted and directed by Ian Mortimer . The dilemma facing the doctor is that he has only one place available in his special course of treatment for tuberculosis but two
candidates . He has to decide which patient to save : a kindly , altruistic , poor medical colleague , dedicated to helping hundreds of the less well-off who come to him for the most inexpensive treatment , or an extremely gifted but also very unpleasant rogue , cheat , womaniser , bigamist and amoral young artist . It is even harder for the doctor to separate his motives for the decision of who shall live as he has fallen deeply in love with the artist ’ s wife . His problem is discussed amongst his fellow doctors , and - serious as it is - there is much humour to enjoy in the exchanges between them . Doors open at 6.30pm and the performance will start at 7pm in the Nerja Bridge Club – entrance through the blue doors at the top of Avda Castilla Perez 1 , Nerja .

Nerja Choir success
The Nerja Pale Voice choir hit the bars of Nerja on the Friday before Christmas with some rousing renditions of festive carols , collecting money for Nerja Solidaria , the charity for local underpriviledged families . Given the standard of vocals on show they raised a remarkable € 540 on the night . Many thanks to all concerned and thanks to the
bar owners for tolerating them . Furthermore , Adrian and Peter from Bar 19 then donated € 275 from the proceeds of their ‘ Christmas with Crystal ’ show night to make the total pot € 815 . Well done everyone .
Time for tea ?
The English Tea Room is opening early February in El Zoco , Capistrano , Nerja . They will be serving posh traditional English breakfasts at great prices , everything homemade , with cakes , scones and their speciality Afternoon Teas on offer , coffee , teas and alcoholic beverages available . The owner , Lucia Beech , has been bringing afternoon teas to Nerja for the past two years and is an English baker and chef with a passion for vintage tea rooms .
