Indonesia tsunami and earthquake on September 28 th
Indonesia faced a long and painful devastating earthquake and tsunami in
September. Palu, in Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi province, was ravaged on
September 28 th by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that lashed the
coastal city with waves up to 20 ft. tall, killing over 2,100. The devastation
damaged over 68,450 houses and left around 680 people missing
.
Balaroa, a district in Palu, was completely obliterated by the soil liquefaction that followed immediately after the earthquake
